Manufacturing Process of TMT
JINDAL TMT 550 XD Bars are manufactured through state-of-the-art theme-mechanical (realm’ process. Tested steel billets after re-heating in a furnace, are rolled through rolling stands, reducing the billets tai.. the desired shape and din of the bar. Thereafter, the bar is subjected to special treatment under the following stages :
Quenching stage : The bar is subjected to sudden cooling by using efficient water cooling equipment, resulting in fast cooling of the bar surface forming a layer “Crude marten site”, while the core remains austenite.
Teampring
The rebar on leaving the quenching line is subjected to air-cooling, the core bein heats the quenched surface. forming a structure
Cooling
The bar under goes atmospheric cooling on the cooling bed and the austenitic ci mmsformed into ductile ferrite-pearlite core. In its final structure the JINDAL TMT 550Bar has a b strong outer layer. Tempered Marten site and a ductile ferrite-Pearlier Core
